The Privilege of Being Called Mommy & Daddy

Psalm 128:1-2

How blessed is everyone who fears the Lord,

        Who walks in His ways.

[2] When you shall eat of the fruit of your hands,

You will be happy and it will be well with you.

~Prayer~

That you will never forget the children are a blessing.

Something To Think About:

Prayerfully reflect on the high and holy calling  of being a mom and dad. Share why it is such a privilege.

Wild and Crazy

 Song 4:9

        "You have made my heart beat faster, my sister, my bride;

You have made my heart beat faster with a single glance of your eyes,

With a single strand of your necklace.

~Prayer~

Ask God to help you keep the romantic fires burning in your marriage.

Something To Think About:

A Test of Commitment

Matthew 19:6

"So they are no longer two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate."

~Prayer~

Ask God to give you the  courage to fulfill your commitment, even when your spouse doesn’t respond.

Something To Think About:

After going through the questions, rank the top two or three issues that need to be addressed. Then write out how you’re going to practically demonstrate commitment to your mate.

Divine Sufficiency

2 Cor. 5:4-5

For indeed while we are in this tent, we groan, being burdened, because we do not want to be unclothed but to be clothed, so that what is mortal will be swallowed up by life. [5] Now He who prepared us for this very purpose is God, who gave to us the Spirit as a pledge.

~Prayer~

That you would be able to trust in God’s sufficiency when you feel you are unable to do anything worthy on your own.

Something To Think About:

In what areas do you feel inadequate? How has God proven His sufficiency  to you in the past?

Talking  With Teenagers Pt. 1

Psalm 78:6-7

That the generation to come might know, even the children yet to be born,

That they may arise and tell them to their children,

[7] That they should put their confidence in God

And not forget the works of God,

        But keep His commandments,

~Prayer~

For one another that your faith would be marked by the same courage that the Old Testament saints used to battle their enemies.

Something To Think About:

Why is ti so threatening to talk to teenagers about such critical issues? As a couple, discuss your level of comfort.

~Prayer~

Ask God for His favor upon you, as parents, as you raise teens during these dangerous days.

Something To Think About:

If you  have a teenager,  give him or her an assignment to answer this question: What are things you would like to talk about with us?

Rebuilding The Wall

Neh. 1:3-4

They said to me, "The remnant there in the province who survived the captivity are in great distress and reproach, and the wall of Jerusalem is broken down and its gates are burned with fire."

[4] When I heard these words, I sat down and wept and mourned for days; and I was fasting and praying before the God of heaven.

~Prayer~

Spend some time tonight in prayer with your mate. God through our prayer needs. Pray that Jesus Christ  will be Lord first in your own home, then in every Christian home, to the glory of God.

Something To Think About:
