Your Mate’s Mirror

1 John 4:18

    There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves punishment, and the one who fears is not perfected in love.


That  God would use each of you to cast out fear through your love.

Something To Think About:

What fears help to govern how your mate reacts in different situations? Discuse with one another how rejection and acceptance have had an impact in your life.   

Tuesday January 31st

    How Do You View God?

Exodus 8:10

    Then he said, "Tomorrow." So he said, "May it be according to your word, that you may know that there is no one like the Lord our God.


   Find a concordance (the one in the back of your Bible will do). Look under “God” and read down through the verses, jotting down what God is and isn’t. Take a moment to confess your misconceptions about Him, and worship  Him using this new list.

Something To Think About:

Make a list of words pictures or adjectives that describe  God in your honest view of Him.

Wednesday  February 1st

When Reality Hits Home

Luke 8:15

    "And the seed in the good soil, these are the ones who have heard the word in an honest and good heart, and hold it fast, and bear fruit with perseverance.


That you would be able to sink roots into a church where you have years of fruitful ministry.

Something To Think About:

When have you been faced with the choice of self-preservation or perseverance? What did you choose?

Thursday February 2nd

Plugging into God

Deut. 31:6

    "Be strong and courageous, do not be afraid or tremble at them, for the Lord your God is the one who goes with you. He will not fail you or forsake you."



Ask God to enable you to model a life that is plugged into God.

Something To Think About:

Are there any areas of your life that aren’t plugged in? What can you do to begin teaching your children how to become dependent upon God?

  Friday February 3rd

Seizing The Moment

2 Cor. 6:1-2

    And working together with Him, we also urge you not to receive the grace of God in vain— for He says,

        "At the acceptable time I listened to you,

        And on the day of salvation I helped you."

        Behold, now is "the acceptable time," behold, now is "the day of salvation"—


That God will give you sensitivity  to discern the right time, and the wisdom to choose the right words at your children’s teachable moment.

Something To Think About:

Can you think of a time in your youth when you learned a spiritual lesson from an adult? What are the five most important truths you most teach your children? List them.

Saturday February 4th

The Mutual Admiration Society

Proverbs 15:23

        A man has joy in an apt answer,

        And how delightful is a timely word!


That God will develop  within you the determination to build your relationship by praising each other.

Something To Think About:

List there your mate has done lately that are deserving of praise. Write them in a love note to him or her.

Sunday February 5th

Adopted By God

Ephes. 1:4-5

    just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and blameless before Him. In love [5] He predestined us to adoption as sons through Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the kind intention of His will,



Thank God for causing you to be holy and blameless before Him become of His Son, Jesus Christ.

Something To Think About:

What  type of life did God take you from when He “adopted” you? Describe  the change  in your life since you’ve been adopted into His family.

Monday February 6th

A Clash of Wills

Proverbs 16:9

        The mind of man plans his way,

        But the Lord directs his steps.


Think through the problems  your face right now, and ask God to guide your steps and keep you joyful in the process.

When was the last time you faced a circumstance where your will clashed with God’s? Is there  a clash today?
