Rebuilding The Wall

Neh. 1:3-4

    They said to me, "The remnant there in the province who survived the captivity are in great distress and reproach, and the wall of Jerusalem is broken down and its gates are burned with fire."

    [4] When I heard these words, I sat down and wept and mourned for days; and I was fasting and praying before the God of heaven.

~Prayer~

Spend some time tonight in prayer with your mate. God through our prayer needs. Pray that Jesus Christ  will be Lord first in your own home, then in every Christian home, to the glory of God.

Tuesday January 17th

    Romans 6:17

    But thanks be to God that though you were slaves of sin, you became obedient from the heart to that form of teaching to which you were committed,

    Read and discuss the Ten Commandments from Exodus 20:1-17 at your next family meal.

Something To Think About:

That doing God’s will may become an inner urge in your heart, not just a dutiful observing of external command.

Wednesday January 18th

Hide and Seek Pt. 1

Genesis 3:8

    They heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and the man and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God among the trees of the garden.

~Prayer~

To be truly “discovered” both by God and by your mate. ~Amen~

Are you aware of keeping a part of your life hidden from your mate or from God?

Thursday January 19th

 Hide and Seek Pt. 2

Jeremiah 29:13

    'You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.

~Prayer~

Take turns praying for one another before you go to sleep tonight. Ask God to help you develop this spiritual discipline in your relationship with Him and one another.

Something To Think About:

When was the last time you prayed together as a couple? What keep you from doing it now?

Friday January 20th

A Wife’s Life

   Ephes. 5:25,33

    Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her …. 33) Nevertheless, each individual among you also is to love his own wife even as himself, and the wife must see to it that she respects her husband.

~Prayer~

Ask God to help you to be sensitive to the burden your wife carries. Ask Him to show you how you can shoulder some of her burdens.

Something To Think About:

How does your family share household chores and other responsibilities? If you have two incomes, talk with your spouse about the real cost to your relationship and family.

Saturday January 21st

God’s Moments For Mom

Galatians 6:9

    Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary.

~Prayer~

Ask God to empower you with wisdom, equip you with patience and reward you with joy in the challenge of parenting.

Something To Think About:

What part of being a parent do you find the most rewarding? Frustrating? Recall a time when one of your children made being a parent all worthwhile.

Sunday January 22nd

The Easiest Thing To Do Is Nothing

Taking A Stand

Matthew 5:13-14

    "You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt has become tasteless, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled under foot by men. "You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden;

That God would give you the courage to be “salt” and “light” in our culture.
